2011 Infiniti QX56

All New Infinity QX56

Infiniti has completely redesigned their popular QX56 for 2011. This new model has styling and design elements similar to the elegant FX35 and FX50 and is absolutely loaded with special features. The exterior of the 2011 model is 1.4 inches longer, 1.1 inches wider and 3.8 inches lower than the current QX model. However, despite the slightly larger size, Infiniti was able to increase fuel efficiency by 10%. Upgraded exterior elements include a power, one touch, open/close tinted, tilting moonroof with a sliding sunshade, Xenon headlights with headlight washers, adaptive front lighting, fog lights, and power folding side mirrors. UV reducing solar glass and rear privacy glass help to keep the contents and passengers comfortable and protected. Rain sensing front windshield wipers and a front window deicer make the new QX adaptable to a variety of weather conditions. Twenty inch, seven spoke alloy wheels easily accommodate the robust size of the new QX and further add an additional element of sophistication.

Power

Available as either the QX56 2WD or QX56 4WD, both models draw their power from a 5.6 Liter 32-valve direct injection V8 aluminum-alloy engine. This powerful V8 delivers 400 hp, 413 lb-ft of torque and has a towing capacity of 8,500 lbs. A 7-speed, electronically controlled automatic transmission with Adaptive Shift Control learns driving styles and adjusts automatic shifting accordingly. As well, the driver can utilize a 4-wheel drive mode with balanced torque between the front and rear wheels or select electronically controlled tow and snow modes to maintain continuous traction in all driving conditions.

Safety

The New 2011 QX56Additional comfort comes in the form of safety and security. The new Infiniti QX56 comes equipped with multiple safety systems. Infiniti’s Forward Collision Warning (FCW) alerts driver of potential front collision with visual and audible warning while the Intelligent Brake Assist system engages the brakes to reduce speed and prevent head on collisions. Similarly, the Blind Spot warning system alerts the driver when it senses objects or vehicles located in the vehicle’s blind spot. A Lane Departure Prevention system assists the driver to return to the center of the lane whenever lane drift occurs and a tire pressure monitoring system keeps the driver informed about the existing tire pressure and recommended inflation levels. In the event of a collision the Infiniti Advance Air Bag System adjusts inflation rate depending on crash severity. If no front passenger is detected a sensor will deactivate the air bag on the passenger side. In addition, roof mounted curtain side impact air bags provide head protection for all 3 rows. Infiniti equipped the 2011 QX56 with anti theft technology as well. A vehicle immobilizer system recognizes a unique chip in the keyless entry transponder and will prevent the engine from starting unless the correct transponder is used.
